I'm hoping I'll acquire some of both a little further down the road, but right now I'm simply going to share with you how I applique. It's easy peasy. Amy's Bio - Hi, my name is Amy. I live in a small house near the ocean in Los Angeles with my three children and my awesome husband. We are a lively family but we live very quietly ~ I can honestly say that all five of us are homebodies, looking forward to returning home whenever we go out. But the fun thing I've discovered while looking through my camera these past years, is that there is a lot of beauty in our "everyday." And I'm looking forward to sharing with you my life as I create and explore new ways to find that beauty.

Completely self-taught in everything, I am a "see it- do it" kind of girl. And I love trying new things. Maybe someday I'll have a real style, but for now I love vintage and modern, girly and clean, and everything in between.

French Tags Free Tutorial By Carol Daisy of Embroideries From Daisy's Garden

I just LOVE beautiful tags to decorate my handmade gifts so I was thrilled to see that Carol Daisy had a wonderful tutorial on her Create-Enhance blog showing you how to create a French Tag. I'm definitely going to be making some of these.

Here's what Carol had to say about her tutorial: These are a just great for gift giving. Do you have hidden away in your sewing stash pieces of lace that are just too small to put to use, but you cannot bear to part with them. This is a way to have it on show. I like so many of you would have seen examples of these tags on many Blogging Posts and Etsy stores. Some are done on card gluing or stitching the layers down and others as a Mixed Media or Shabby Chic.

This is my version, more as a sewn item with the seams covered.

Carol's Bio: My life is at the stage that I can indulge in my interests of Embroidery and Crafts. Ribbons,beads,threads, laces and trims all have a special place here in my studio.

My childhood was spent on the family dairy farm in Toowoomba, Queensland. When I was about 12 years old, my Grandmother (nicknamed Daisy – hence the name Daisy’s Garden) introduced me to the joys of needlework. I am so thankful to her for giving me a skill that I could enjoy and build upon for life. After the chores were done, whenever I had some spare time, I would sit quietly on the front porch and stitch away. I remember these times so fondly. When I retired, and finally had some time to myself, I had the desire to do embroidery again. I didn’t get far with the fancy work tablecloth however, once I discovered Silk Ribbon Embroidery, I became addicted!

Going, Going, Gone... The Luggage Label Free Tutorial By Ros Coffey of RosMadeMe Blog

If you're a frequent traveler and have ever had the unpleasant experience of trying to locate your luggage from hundreds of other pieces then you'll be pleased to know that Ros Coffey has a tutorial on her RosMadeMe Blog blog showing you how to make a luggage tag that's easy to find. What a great idea.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial: The first time I went to New York was a disaster, especially as I arrived there in a pair of BA pajamas (the stewardess decided I would look better wearing my red wine...), the car that was picking me up was booked for the wrong time (note to self, not everyone can cope with a 24 hour clock) but it would have been much worse if I had not checked the bag I picked up off the carousel which had to be mine... except where did those rather scuzzy Y fronts come from? That is the moment that I realised you need something to mark out your luggage from the herd... and I am not talking about sticky multi-coloured tape on your case but something a little more sophisticated, your very own luggage label to chime in with where you are going.

Ros's Bio:I live by the sea, in Essex, in Leigh-on-sea. I have been making things since I was a child, earliest memories were embroidering squares of binca matting, making felt egg cups and ripping back my knitting when my sister had picked up a dropped stitch... yep, it really did have to be all my own work! I am a dreadful hoarder, with stashes of wool and fabric hidden around my house, together with the projects that I have not yet finished. I am currently making cushions, quilted, appliqued, stencilled... actually just anything that I will enjoy crafting.
